Tuesday Breakfast with Baboen
At this month's breakfast member Marieke van Dijk & Samira el Madani will introduce Baboen to Spring House.
The best work is self designed.
The world is changing, and the way we work is evolving. To thrive in this new context new and diverse competencies and skills are required. Unfortunately our educational model is lagging behind in designing ways through which young people can acquire these skills. Baboen wants to experiment in this field, by bridging two worlds that can benefit from each other: young people who want work experience and the growing self-employed community, who can support them to gain the soft skills / ‘behind the scene’ and experience and learn about what it means to be an entrepreneur.
Here we are:
On May, 2016 the platform went live! And since then we gained experience in making matches; How to reach young people, what common language we could speak, what can and cannot be outsourced, a ton good excuses for arriving late and that there is an incredible amount of humor in differences and cultural habits.
Here is where Baboen is going:
– A platform for permanent experimentation to test ‘the future of work’ on a daily basis
– Joint ownership by setting up an organization with ambassadors
– Become financially more independent
– Scalable, replicable and shareable
